Hello, my name is Troy Donson and I am an Arizona artist specializing in handmade wood items that highlight the natural beauty of wood and serve a useful purpose.

Thus the tag line:

Handmade Art...with a purpose.

All of the woods that I work with are God's Own handy work and I point blank refuse to paint, stain or otherwise alter the natural beauty of the wood other than to put a clear varnish, lacquer, or oil finish on to protect the wood's surface. Nothing against those who decide to alter the wood's natural beauty, mind you, I just feel that the natural colors of wood are a joy to behold...

As much as humanly possible, I use American made materials in my art forms. The notable exceptions are (of course) the exotic woods I find myself drawn to for the colors they exhibit and Crush Grind Pepper Mill Mechanisms. In my opinion Crush Grind Mechanisms from Ideas Denmark are just THE BEST money can buy and they carry a 25 year warranty. 'Nuff said.

Right now, this is a "part time" operation, as I still find myself "having to work for a living." My bottle stoppers and other items can be purchased either directly through me in person or over the web. You can order via email at troy@donsonwoodworks.com.

The website was updated on Febuary17th, 2012 and it is still a bit rough around the edges.

Hopefully I will be fixing the knot holes and filling in all the cracks as I go...
